The CARE best practice model

Picture

CARE is a comprehensive training programme and implementation package. It provides childcare agencies and staff with the best ideas and methods to help young people. These methods are based on the latest research. CARE implementation brings all levels within an organisation together to help children and young people.

CARE complements the TCI programme. TCI provides staff with ideas and methods to prevent and de-escalate emotional outbursts and other challenging behaviours. CARE provides staff with a further range of ideas and methods to help young people, particularly young people who have suffered abuse, neglect or other forms of trauma. Like TCI,  it involves building relationships, using active listening and avoiding alienating young people through relying on punitive consequences. CARE is based on the latest research and theories on helping traumatised children.
